Calculation standards
We use standard arithmetic and finance formulas appropriate to each tool. Inputs are converted into the units shown, calculations are performed at full precision, and displayed results may be rounded for readability.
Time-sensitive values
When a calculator relies on a published rate or rule, we label the period it applies to and update it when authoritative guidance changes. For example, the mileage reimbursement calculator identifies the applicable 2026 IRS business mileage rate by trip date.
What results mean
Results are informational estimates, not professional financial, tax, legal or lending advice. Actual outcomes can differ because of lender methods, taxes, fees, employer policies, local rules or other inputs not included in a calculator.
Corrections
If a calculation method or published reference changes, we update the affected tool rather than silently carrying forward outdated assumptions.
